The Harpoon Brothers

The Harpoon Brothers started many years ago between two brothers Jordon and Doug Goodwin. The Harpoon Brothers was a nickname given to them by neighbors and other hunters in the area. In there little corner of Southern Michigan gun hunting was far more popular than bow hunting. They were passionate about hunting and just being outdoors. As they pushed hard for a month and a half before most hunters hit the field and started enjoying more and more success, news would travel around town about what the Harpoon Brothers were doing.

Eventually that passion grew, and as often happens with hunting and fishing, you develop more brothers.  I heard the phrase once "I don't have friends, I have family."  That is what we are about here at Harpoon Brothers, we are a family. A brotherhood of people who love hunting, fishing, and just being out in nature. Join this journey with us. Welcome to the brotherhood.

MEET THE BROTHERS

Jordon Goodwin

Jordon Goodwin

Jordon's earliest memories involve hunting. Starting before the age of 5 following his dad and brother on pheasant hunts, carrying as many birds as he could, and sitting in deer blinds with bread bags wrapped around his socks. Learning woodsmanship and sportsmanship from a hunting family, his dad an avid gun hunter and his uncle an avid bow hunter. He enjoys the physical and mental aspects of the hunt. Challenging himself to new adventures. Striving to learn more about the sciences behind the animal, the weapon, the environment, and the ability of the human body that puts them at the top of the food chain. An interest in new technology (no more bread bags), and physical fitness push Jordon to find ways to push further and go harder to find success.

Doug Goodwin

Doug Goodwin

Doug grew up hunting in much of the same ways Jordon did. He is a first generation bow hunter, an avid deer hunter, turkey hunter and waterfowler. He learned the ropes on bow hunting mostly on his own with some direction from his uncle. He enjoys finding new properties, scouting and building strategies to get on birds or deer. Doug loves to introduce new people to the outdoors and hunting, sharing his passion and hoping they develop it too.

Jake Dickerson

Jake Dickerson

Jake didn't grow up hunting or fishing, he was raised in the city.  It wasn't until his late twenties where he first got to experience the joys of these wonderful activities. He met Jordon and Doug about 7 years ago and they never looked back.  He fit right in as a Harpoon Brother and still learns many things every single time he goes out.  Jake is and Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in Jackson, Michigan.  He is married to Amy,  and has a daughter and two sons.  He is already starting to share his love of the outdoors with his children and very supportive wife.  He still considers himself a "rookie" and has started a blog sharing his experiences.  He helped develop this site/blog to allow everyone else to share this passion. Everyone has a good hunting or fishing story, even a "rookie."
